Rouge Abilities – Killing your Enemy with
Style
Before we go on to explaining the different trees of the
rouge class, an important note about rouge abilities must be
kept in mind. Rouges are not the kind of class that focuses
solely on a single ability or two. On the contrary, rouges take
a series of abilities and use them on as combo to inflict
damage, inflict even greater damage and avoid damage as
well.
With the wide range of abilities that rouges have, one can
come up with so many ways to make your opponent suffer. Some of
the styles that rouge players can think of would include
prolonged stuns, insane critical damage, poison stacking, and
even maximizing DPS.
This is not to say, however, that one must spread his skills
into utilizing all of them. This would result to spreading
abilities thinly. Instead, one must choose talents and skills
wisely so as to be prepared to use them alternately for more
flexibility – a very powerful trait in any rouge player.

Also, be sure to pick your weapons purposively. Some
abilities require certain types of weapons, such as the very
powerful ambush skill which can only be used with a dagger.
Rouges have a relatively few weapon options to choose from, but
you can still make the most out of it with the right set of
skills.
Rouge Talent Trees
While you do need to categorize certain abilities that you
need for a particular fight, rest assured most, if not all the
skills of the rouge will certainly remain useful regardless of
your talent tree build. But what you need to do to make a
difference is to pick out the talent tree you want to
specialize in and, if you wish, your secondary set of talents
among the Assassination, Combat and Subtlety trees.
Assassination talents significantly define the nature of the
rouge’s abilities in terms of damage. Most of the important
damage inducing talents such as increased DPS, critical strike,
poisons, as well as a wide variety of stuns and finishing moves
can be found in this tree. While some of them require daggers
in order to be available, most don’t and are equally
powerful.
Combat talents are often meant to help improve your
efficiency in combat in terms of existing skills together with
passive skills. Most of the talents under this tree help the
rouge deal much better damage on his available skills, as
opposed to the Assassination tree that offers individually
useable active skills.
Subtlety, as opposed to the first two trees which focus more
on improving the rouge’s power, concentrates generally on
disabling the enemy. Many disabling skills can be found here
such as stealth and vanish. You can blind, slow or ignore the
armor of an enemy target with the talents under this tree as
well.
What makes the rouge class such a fun class to play is the
fact that the player can be ultimately creative about how he or
she controls the rouge, allowing you to choose your own style
and perhaps even develop a signature as to how you win your
battles. Rouges are also much easier to level (though not as
much as the hunter) than other classes, so players can enjoy
the fruits of their questing and grinding much faster than
most.
